We held elections to The Order of the Arrow (OA), Scouting’s National Honor Society, back on 8 December. The results were officially announced at the Klondike Derby campfire ceremony this last weekend. The purpose of OA is to:

On Tuesday the 19th, The scout meeting was the Klondike Derby shakedown. As part of this, each patrol had to make a gold bag to hold the "gold" they would get during the derby, and they also had to make a sign with their patrol name. The Mustang patrol had the best as judged by leadership. In the other part of the meeting, each scout had to bring what they were packing for the campout so no one would be unprepared for the campout and get cold.

Troop 893's annual Merit Badge University will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, at CUMC, on February 14th, 21st, and 28th. Brian Schultz (brian.r.schultz@att.net) is our coordinator and has already provided details in a separate e-mail (sent by me on 21 Jan). I've attached the registration form to remind those of you who have not already filled one out, to do so now and e-mail it to Mr. Schultz. Adults -- please contact Brian ASAP to let him know what Merit Badges you are willing to be a counselor for at this year's MB University.
